Bingo Terms Made Simple

90-Ball Bingo and 75-Ball Bingo

BB4L: Bingo Ball For Life, which is Giggle Bingo’s own unique online bingo promotion, is  superior to any other promotion! All online bingo players have a lucky ball, and now you are given the opportunity to claim one for life, and when you bingo on your lucky number you win!

BBz: Bingo Bonuses. This is what you are paid out for chat game and certain promotional wins. This money cannot be withdrawn, but you can purchase bingo cards or tickets with it, as well as win cold hard cash with them! You will of course be able to withdraw the money won on the bingo cards.

Bingo Room: This is where it all happens. We have five online rooms at Giggle Bingo, four for 90-Ball (Friendship, Speed Bingo, Snickers & Sunshine) and one 75-Ball room, Ice Breaker.

Blackout: The same as Coverall, where you need all 24 balls on your 75-Ball Bingo ticket called to win Bingo.

Buy In: This is the term for what is needed in order to buy into a game. Each game will have a ticket price, and a minimum number of cards/tickets per game. For example, if your card/tickets are 5p and the minimum purchase is 5 cards or tickets for the game, then the buy-in will be 25p.

Caller: This is the name given to the automated voice that calls the balls during your bingo games. These make-believe callers develop a life of their own, and are often loved or harassed to death by roomies.

Cards: same as tickets, these are what you purchase to play online bingo.

CG: Chat Game; these are the games that are played in chat where you can win free bonus money (BBz) to be able to play more bingo online with! What a bargain!

CH: Chat Host. These are the loveable loons that are there to entertain and help you in the Chat Rooms. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to ask your CH, who will make sure your matter is dealt with swiftly.

CHM: Chat Host Manager. This is the poor lass that tries to keep control of that loveable bunch of loons. CHM Giggles is available for any question,  concern or even just a natter, so feel free to ask your CH for her ear!

Chat Room: This is that box to the left of the bingo grid and tickets where all the typing happens. It houses the CH’s and Roomies.

Coverall: The same as Blackout, where you need all 24 balls on your 75-Ball Bingo ticket called to win Bingo.

Dauber: The dauber is the pen that your bingo tickets or cards are marked off with. At Giggle Bingo, your cards come with auto daub, making it easier for you to enjoy chat while you play. You can preview and choose the colour and look of your dauber in the options screen.

FH: In 90-Ball Bingo there are three wins to every game: 1st line win, 2nd line win and Full House (FH). In standard 90-Ball Bingo games the FH is a much bigger pot that the other two prizes.

Free Space: In 75-Ball Bingo you play with a card/ticket that’s a 5x5 grid, 25 squares in total. The middle square is known as a free space, as its already marked off for you, so the most you ever have to get would be 24 squares.

Jackpot: This is the great big prize that you can win on many bingo games. To win a jackpot, you must either bingo (75-Ball) or FH Bingo (90-Ball) within the required number of balls. Check all of our great JP’s.

Leaders: In the chat room there is a section called leaders. These are the people in the bingo game (online and offline) that are the closest to winning.. The number of balls still required will be displayed next to their names.

Lingo: Lingo is a rhyme word for the kind of unique chat language used when playing Bingo. Check out the Giggle Bingo online Bingo Lingo page to see all of the automated ones available in chat with FAB noises and voice-overs to go with them.

Lobby: The Lobby is where you will find all five of Giggle Bingos rooms, Friendship, Ice Breaker, Speed Bingo, Snickers & Sunshine. You will be able to view what games are being played in that particular room and select the one which you would want to visit.

Nick: Is short for nickname; it’s the name you have given yourself for your online Giggle Bingo account.

Pattern: In 75-Ball Bingo, one of the styles of game is known as “Pattern”. With this style you will see that some squares are shaded and they form a pattern of some sort. You win a pattern bingo game by getting all the shaded squares called and completing the pattern. Here are some examples of our patterns…

Pot: This is the prize for any 75-Ball Bingo or any line prize in 90-Ball Bingo.

Prize: sometimes called the “pot”; this is what you win when you bingo or win a line in 90-ball.

PJP: Progressive Jackpot is a jackpot that continues to grow with each game that it’s not won. Giggle Bingo is exceptionally generous with their PJP’s, as every few days they increase the balls to jackpot ratio, making it easier for you to win!

Roomies: The players in the chat room, affectionately known as “roomies”.

RNG: Online bingo uses an RNG or Random Number Generator to ensure that the balls are called in a totally random order. The RNG has to be independently tested and certified by the bingo hall’s licensing authority.

Speed Bingo: In 90-Ball Bingo speed bingo is the same format of game but it is also just very, very fast. In 75-Ball Bingo as well as the game being very fast, it’s also a Blackout or coverall.

Split Pot: This means that more than one player has won the same pot. The pot will be split evenly amongst the winners. It is possible however for one player to win on two cards/tickets and another player to win on one. In this situation, the pot is split three ways with one player getting two shares and the other player getting one share.

TG:To Go”,  is used when you see players type 1TG, 2TG, 3TG, which means that they need only 1, 2 or 3 balls to bingo.

Tickets: same as cards, these are what you purchase to play bingo.
